US Consulate

This morning we had to wake up early and go to our US Consulate appointment. There was a line of other families adopting there but once we were through the line the appointment was done in minutes. We took an oath and signed a paper and were done. We will now get Mae's visa tomorrow so that we can fly home! YAY! That was our last signature for this adoption (:
Our dear friend Lyn came over to the house the day before we left and brought Mae this very precious American flag dress to wear especially on this day. Let me tell you, she got so many complements while we were there and she was the only one dressed for the occasion (: I even love the back side.
There are no camera's allowed at the Consulate so these were taken before we left that morning. We had to wake her up to get there in time and it was so funny because I tried slowing waking her up while she was in her crib and she just wouldn't open her eyes, so I lifted her out of the bed and changed her diaper, got her dressed and everything while she was still sleeping. She woke up all dressed and with the biggest smile (:

We have successfully taught Mae how to say "more" in sign language and she thinks it is the best thing ever! She probably wishes we had taught her that magic word from the beginning. It is so cute and she is asking for more as soon as she takes a bite, ready for the next.

  7. i love how tan her little face is compared to her arms! It's like they've never seen the sun :). I bet they'll match her face pretty soon. Nyla gets darker every 5 mins she's out in the sun. Her and Mae will have to have tanning contests! (kidding of course... SPF is our friend :) see y'all soon!
