hello sea & sand...

Our family took a little adventure to the beach... this was the first time for Ian and Jovie. We got to give them the experience of seeing the wide open skies, hearing waves crashing and feeling sand between their toes. It really humbles me each and every time I get to experience a FIRST with them.

Although Jovie is normally our fearless Tiger baby, we realized pretty quickly that the waves intimidated her.
She wanted to be f-a-r from their reach...
but Ian, on the other hand, had no reservations of the growing tide.
There were so many times we thought a wave was about to knock him out
but he always escaped at the last moment.
Mae was very busy running back and forth,
and got right to work making mud pies and finding sea shells.

This first day at the beach was pure bliss,
my three sweet babies were soaked and thoroughly coated with a thick layer of sand
and could not be happier! (:

mini golf and kite flying

We got the opportunity to go to Hilton Head a few weeks back and I never got around to posting the pictures... The news of Jovie Ming was a little distracting!

Mae had her first lesson in golf.
She really wanted to play but knew she wasn't getting anywhere...

So after the third hole, our clever girl would just walk down to the hole and start her ball off here... for a hole and one each time.

And Cody and I got her a kite of her own as her "gotcha day" present.  Cody and I got a kite 10 years ago from my sister, the day we got engaged, that we flew on this very beach... kites are kind of special to us. (:

Hilton Head Vacation

I am very behind on the blog... again.  I wanted to past-post our summer fun and share some of the pictures of our sweet girl.

In June, our little family packed up and headed for the beach.  My mom and dad came too (Mae's Nonna and Boppy).  Last year we came here in November, so this was Mae's first "real" beach experience.  She LOVED every little thing about our time in Hilton Head.  It is definitely a family vacation spot and Cody and I enjoyed it in a whole new way; seeing it through her eyes.

Sand castles and the ocean...
bike rides every day...
and a boat ride on Boppy's boat.
Mae was the happiest she could be.

We just soaked in this awesome family time... that came and went so quickly.  That's why I love these pictures.
